Excursion to French Lick.

The Monon will run a special excursion train to French Lick Springs Sunday, Aug. 15th. Train will leave Rensselaer at 5:30 a. m. Returning it will leave French Lick at 7 p. m. Fare $2 for the round trip. Fine band on train. The Ft. Wayne & Traction Co. has posted notices that it will exempt itself from the provisions of the workingmen’s compensation act passed by the last general assembly. The act provided for such exemption but this does not in any sense release the company from responsibility. To .the small employer it would seem better, as a general rule, to accept the provisions of the act and gain protection by insurance.
