Motorcycles and Bicycles Abolished On Mail Routes.

Use of bicycles or motorcycles in the rural delivery service is prohibited by an order issued Monday by Postmatser-General Burelson, effective January 1, 1916. In announcing his order, Mr. Burleson holds that vehicles of these types do not have the carrying capacity needed for the parcel post service and do not afford necessary protection for the mails in bad weather. The order will affect about 8,000 carriers who nom -use the bicycle or motorcycle to cover their routes.
