Father and Sons Fined For Assault on Landlord.

William Eldridge was fined $5 and his sons, Robert and Jimmie, $1 each, for an assault committed on Henry Eigelsbach Thursday afternoon. Mr. Eigelsbach owns the farm on which Mr. Eldridge and sons reside. He went to the farm Thursday and found the tenants putting up hay. He said it was too wet to put up and an argument ensued. Jimmie Eldridge hreatened to put the landlord off the farm and Robert struck him. Their father then took a hand or rather a foot in the argument and kicked the landlord. Mr. Eigelsbach returned to town and had them arrested. Squire Woodhull I. Spitler heard the cases. William and son Robert pleaded guilty and the former was fined $5 and costs, amounting to $12.00; Robert drew $1 and costs, amounting to $6.75, and Jimmie stood trial. He was found guilty, not of assault but of having abetted and encouraged his brother and father. He was fined $1 and costs, amounting to $7.50. The fines were paid.
