The late Admiral Mahan, at the beginning of the war, was arguing with a lady at a luncheon about the British navy. “But my dear madam," said the admiral. “it is hard to argue with you because you are so—er. pardon me—bo ignorant. “You remind we of the young wife who said to her brother about her volunteer husband: , "‘lsn’t Jack Just wonderful?
