Rensselaer Has Deciding Voice in Subsidy Election.

iManticello Journal: The county commissioners of Jasper county have set Wednesday, July 14th, as the day upon which to hold the subsidy election in Marion township, which includes Rensselaer, for the proposed Lafayette Northwestern railroad. The petition filed contained the names of 86 voters. 0. L. Brown, the promoter of the road, has assurance that the money can be secured to build the road if the subsidy is voted in Marian township. It has previously been voted in Princeton and Round Grove townships m this county; and Jackson and Beaver townships, Newton county.
