Kankakee Valley Review. Quite a number from here attended the -obeeatnee of Mm Humphrey Barbour at Raseiawn Sunday:' The Thayer team went to Mt. Ayr Sunday and were defeated in a hot 11-inning contest by the score of 9-8. Mrs. Gus Franke was taken to Hammond last Friday and underwent a successful operation for appendicitis. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Tangen and a number of friends of Chicago autoed here Sunday and spent the day with Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Pewestorf. James R. Craig, Ike Goldstein and James Black and ex-Sheriff Thos. Grant motored to Chicago last Saturday on the Dixie Air Line highway. It is reported that a couple of fistic gentlemen have gone into training for a 10-round bout to take place on the 3rd here. We promised not to say anything about it to Geb, and Pete hasn’t mentioned it. Beulah Cobb, Ardell Hebaid, Henry DeFries, Melvin Parks were the graduates from Thayer school to the commencement exercises at Kentland last week. Mrs. Henry Cobb and Mrs. Cal Parks accompanied the graduates to Kentland.
