Porter County Lady Becomes Millionairess.
By a decision handed down by the supreme court in Indianapolis, 'Mrs. Drusilla Carr, of Porter county, becomes a millionairess, having risen to that plane from a beeper of a lunch room for fishermen, situated on the lake front. Forty years ago Mrs. Carr settled near the lake and took up a claim of 140 acres. It was near here that Gary sprang up so quickly, and the lady was forced by some rich men from the land: She hired a lawyer five years ago and began proceedings. At a numlber of trials Mrs. Carr was awarded the title to the land but each time a new trial was granted until it reached the state supreme court, which upheld her right to the land, which is worth over a million dollars.
