DOESN'T WANT FRANK BAKER
Owner of Boston Red Box Denies He Is Making Any Effort to Secure Noted Athletic Player. Frank Lannin, principal owner of the Boston Red Sox, says: “I am making no effort to get Frank Baker from the Athletics. I have all the high-salaried ball players that I care for and now am looking for men who will play ball.
When players deliver the goods I am more than pleased to pay splendid salaries, but I will admit that there is no great pleasure in paying big salaries for the pleasure of seeing men warming up every day.”
