Backed by War Department.

The war department is displeased with the criticism that is being made to discredit Frank A. Bridges, adjutant general of Indiana, and to create the impression that he is responsible for the present plight of the Indiana National Guard, is due to his political manipulation and that the effort to rehabilitate the Indiana militia would proceed better with some one else in charge. The department says that it has always found Mr. Bridges a trustworthy official and that he has the entire confidence of the department.
