Another Jasperite Arrested In Chicago—Finds a Friend.
The Chicago Evening News of Thursday contained the following article. Here it is, head and all: “A Hoosier! Let Him Go, Men! “Surely Some Mistake Here—Why, This man’s From Jasper County. The reputation of Jasper county, Indiana, was upheld in the Desplaines street court today by Frank C. Souhrada, city prosecutor, who induced Judge Laßuy to discharge Vincent Miswoz. Miswoz was arrested last night in the “cleanup” of West Madison street. He was unkempt as he stepped up to the bar. “A cow kicked me yesterday when I was milking her,” said Miswoz. “I’ve had enough of that milking stuff, so I came to town.” “Judge, only the best come from Jasper county,” said Mr. Souhrada. “I am a native of Jasper county myself,” he added modestly. “It is his first arrest and remember, he is from Jasper county. I recommend that he be given another chance.” He was told to go back to Jasper county. X
