St. Joe Lost Ball Game To St. Ignatius Thursday.
St. Joe lost its ball game to St. Ignatius Thursday afternoon by the score of 6 to 3. It was not a very good game, as the scores of the visitors were largely due to errors. Otto Ricks seemed to have plenty of speed and all the mixes necessary to win his game, but his teammates indulged in a few wild throws and other errors that were costly. The game opened by the visitors making 4 runs and the St. Joe lads 3. There was no other scoring until two of the visitors were out in the seventh. Two errors let two on bases and the next man up hit a two bagger, scoring both runners. McColly, the visitor’s pitcher, proved an enigma to St. Joe, although there seemed no reason for it. He pitched with great deliberation and showed no speed and very little curve but his delivery was unsolvable by the St. Joe batters. St. Joe goes to Goodland tomorrow for two games, one Saturday and the other Sunday. ————— C Frank Lear, the old reliable gasoline stove and sewing machine repair man is in town.
