Editor of Republican Did Not Object to Dismissal.

The Democrat states that George H. Healey, editor of The Republican, objected to the dismissal of the petition of Babcock and others for the dismissal of the petition to call an interurban election in Marion township. The editor of The Republican did nothing of the kind, although the record of the oommissßoners shows that Attorney Parkinson entered such an appearance. The commissioners in a spirit of amusement treated.-the proposition as a newspaper war and Mr. Parkinson carried the joke ottt by showing that the editor of The Republican, who is a booster, objected to the retrogressive act of Editor Babcock, who is a knocker. Whale The Republican editor would not have sanctioned the action had he been present, because we do not object to any action that seems to have legal foundation, we believe that compliment paid our interest in the welfare of Rensselaer and the surrounding country as a booster is worth more than all the damage that can result' from Editor Babcock’s efforts to show himself the representative of a little close corporation of short-sighted and close-fisted retreactives.
