Mayor Sisson, in Valparaiso, Wednesday, fined a farmer named Patrick Wiseman $1 and costs for* intoxication. The fine was suspended on the promise of Wiseman that- he would not enter a saloon. Isn’t it funny that the people will license a business that is so disgraceful that the courts have to order men to stay out of the place? There is only one thing to do with the saloon and that is to give it the “Jess Willard” uppercut.

Richard Peterson, who is employed on the Otis ranch near Roselawn, was in Rensselaer yesterday, having with him a fine fox hide. He had killed a male fox on the Otis ranch the day before and it was a large one and the hide was very fine. He filed for the bounty while here.
