Mrs. Roy Ohissom and son came from Chicago last evening and visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George D. McCarthy, over night, returning home today. Her sister, Mrs. Devere Yeoman, accompanied her and ■ will visit in Chicago for several days and then go to Valparaiso to visit Ray Yeoman and family. Devere will join her at the latter place a week from Sunday.

The dog that was shipped from Rensselaer to RuSsell Sage on the western coast of Oregon some two weeks ago arrived at its destination in good shape and Russell and his wife were glad to get it. The commissary supplies expressed with the dog became exhausted at Portland and there was an extra charge of 50 cents for rations at that place. The express cost was almost sl4. The dog frisked about its owners and was glad to bring its long journey to an end.

Lewis F. Alter, of Carpenter township, has directed that his address for The Republican be changed to Burge, Neb., and he writes under date of April 2nd: “I am now in the land of plenty (of snow). I came back to Nebraska in a big sweat to start farming ten days ago and everything was snowed under and it has snowed a little every day since I got here, but it will be at least a week before we can do any work in the fields.
