Extracting Tar From Gas.

Electricity is being employed with success at a Detroit coke oven for the purpose of removing tar from artificial gas in the purifying process. The gas is passed through a highly ionized field, which is produced by a hightension discharge of current ranging as high as 80,000 volts, with the resqjt that the tar forms in large drops, which are thfin easily separated.
