It has been noticed that since the war broke oijt the number of charges of defamation add-violence lodged by tenants against their concierges and vice versa, has enormously Increased. The Crl de Paris suggests a pleasant and plausible explanation. It is that numbers of wives who had been accustomed to have dally “words” with their long-suffering husbands now find this occupation gone. So, just to keep an edge to their tongues, they sharpen them on their concierges.
