Tennis Players Organize And Appoint Committee.
In response to a call issued Thursday some fifteen tennis players met or were represented that evening at a meeting held at the office of Dr. M. D. Gwin, and some ten others who were unable to attend sent word signifying their desire to become members of the tennis club. Indieations are that from twentyfive to thirty will become members of the organization. A committee was appointed consisting of W. J. Wright, J. C. Parrett, W. I. Spitler, C. R. Dean and C. M. Sharp to investigate the matter of finding a lot suitable for three courts. Two places were suggested, the D. S. Makeever lot at the southeast corner of the court house and Milxoy Park. The plan is to make all the courts uniform and with the clay surface and an estimate was made that about #l6O would be required to put the club on a firm footing and it was suggested that stock be sold In shares of $lO, $5, $2 and sl, thus making it possible for some who will use the courts but little to pay the smaller amount of those who will use them much of the time to pay the larger fee. The Makeever lot would be a fine place for the courts and would add greatly to the appearance of the city and it is hoped they can be secured. There is no game played that offers a finer training or bet? ter moral influences than tennis and it is probable that With the organization there would come some interesting contests with tennis clubs in other cities. •» ■ ■ ■ (Mrs. Ada H.
