Soldiers Have Regular Championship Matches Along the Battle Lines. .Paris. —Piquet, says the Figaro, is the favorite diversion of the Frenoh troops In the trenches along the battle lines. Some remarkable games are played between the crack players of the different companies. Many of the contests are broken off suddenly by the bursting of Rtetpnel in or near the trenches. Not infrequently a game ends in a “dead hand when some unfortunate player “passes ont” forever while holding the whining.
