Prof. Ira Coe made a trip to Lafayette today. He had expected to go on the 11:05 train but it was pulling out when he arrived at the depot and a desperate sprint was not sufficient to ipermit him to catch it and he took the 11:20 train and went via Delphi and the interurTban.

** Mrs. George L. Morgan received a letter today from her husband, who has been with their daughter. Miss Cecil, at the hospital where she was operated on Thursday moming, f for an inside goiter. The Operation, he states, was a success and Miss Cecil seems quite certain to be restored to health. Mr, Morgan is expected to return home either today or tomorrow.

Marshal SliesJer, with the assistance of John Richardls and part of the time of several others, has just completed a very difficult job, that of cleaning out the sewer on Washington street at the Cullen street crossing. The Obstruction was between the Makeever hotel and McFarland's grocery and it was so completely stopped up that water would not pass through. To get it cleaned without disturbing the brick .street proved quite a task and a large excavation was made at the hotel corner and then the sewer was cleaned by mean* Of a large augur fastened to several lengths oif gaspipe. It was later flushed out Councilman King, of the street committee, put in considerable time helping to locate the trouble and direct the remedial procedure.
