Ezra Bowman,' of Barkley town ship, while butcherihg hog's Monday of this Week, fell and fractured two ribs! Two thousand head of cattle, 2,380 hogs, 676 sheep and 31 goats have been slaughtered in Michigan since the outbreak of the hoof and mouth disease. Mrs. George N. Walter Wiseman, who served .one enlistment in the Fifth U. S. Cavalry, and then enlisted}.in the 17th U. S. Infantry, is‘ stationed With his regiment at Eagle Pass, Tex,, but Walter likes the cavalry service the best and expects soon to transfer to his former regiment, which is now stationed at Ft. Sheridan. Dr. Johnson pas continued to have trouble with his shoulder which was injured when Delos Thompson’s auto turned over several weeks ago, and he went to Chicago today to have an x-ray examination made of it. H. J. Hinrichs, of Walker townlost three fingers of his right hand while shredding some pop-, corn on his farm the first of the week. His hand was caught in the roller and drawn in until the first three fingers were crushed. Gaylord Brown, who was running the engine, stopped it and reversed the machinery so that the hand was released. Mr. Hinrichs was the republican candidate for trustee at the last election, having been defeated by Joseph Salrin.
