Ancil Potts Won in the Recount in Barkley township. The result of the recount of the votes for assessor of Barkley township resulted in the election of Ancil Potts, the republican candidate for that office. The cotant by the election clerks on the night of the election uhowed Charles Sehroyer, the democratic candidate, to have been elected uy a plurality of two votes. Potts contested the election and a recount was made by Jernes H. Chapman, W. R. Nowels and J. J. Hunt. They found the- vote to be a tie, 139 votes for each Sehroyer and Potts. The matter was then referred back to the election inspectors, Trustee Folger and E. E. Johnson, who met this Thursday morning at the office of Trustee Folgef and east lots and Potts was successful and will be the next assessor of Barkley township, taking his office on Jan. Ist The funeral of Mis. 8. E. Yeomon is being held this afternoon. Mrs. Almira Stockton, Mrs. Cordelia Williams and Mrs. C. H. Porter made a trip to Lafayette today. Mr.’and Mrs. Albert Hazeltine, of Busti, N. Y., are visiting Mr. and Mrs. John M. Knapp, the women being sisters. W. D.
