WILLIAM L. WOOD.
The republican-candidate tor representative of the White and Jasper district is William L. Wood, of Parr, better known as Logan Wood. He is a Rustler, which is a recommendation for any man. He ig. a reader and a thinker, whic|r are qualities essential to the position he seeks. He is no trailer but a leader, which is a recommendation for a legislator. He is a figh&er in any cause in which he is enlisted, which means that he will not proiy the “me too” stunt in Indianapolis. Aside from the qualities mentioned above Mr. Wood is a man with fixed ideas about legislation. He is a man of wide experience as merchant, farmer and trader, and he has lived in Jasper county and made good and established a standing for the square deal that will get him not only the votes of his party but also secure him support from admirers irony other parties. Mr. Wood, is something that few candidates for the legislature have done, namely, he is taking the stump to talk the issues with his constituents, and he will from this time on as he has been doing the past two weeks, accompany H<m, Will R. Wood, of Lafayette, at all meetings held in White and Jasper - Mr. Wood was born in Harrison county, JO., Feb. 25, 1867, and came with his parents, C. and •Rebecca Wood, to Barkley township, in 1877. He was one of a family of eight children and received his education in the common He was married- in 1889, and his vocation up to 1890 was farming. In 1890 he entered the mercantile business at Aix, continuing there until 1895, when he removed to Parr, where he engaged, in the same business, adding to it stock raising and faming. Last February he retired from the mercantile business. The only office Mr. Wood has ever held was that of postmaster at Aix and Parr. He has devoted his spare tlm > to reading and is a well informed man. He is a member of the Christian church and an active Sunday school worker.
