Dr. Edward L.‘Trudeau, who built the first tuberculosis sanatorium in the United States in 1885, says: / “When I bought the first land on which the Adirondack Cottage sanatorium is built, I paid |25 an acre for IL but the price was then thought absurdly high. My last purchase of five acres cost me $5,000.
