The QNLOOKER
By HENRY HOWLAND
Two Souls WhW a Single Thought
“I would I were a bird," she sang; The young man lingered near; She gave the keys full many a bang That he waa loath to hear. She sang with all the might she had, But with a lack of art. And doubtless thought she made him glad. Though he was sad at heart. She frequently got off the key, With tendencies to flat; He writhed behind her back, but she Was ignorant of that. "I would I were a bird,” she bawled, The air to shreds was rent; “I would, indeed, you were,” he called, And got hfs hat and went.
