Thinks There Will Be A Half Crop of Corn.
' Steve Corner brings a hit of good news to us all after making trips during the past few days-to almost every part of Jasper county and occasionally getting across the county line into other counties. He says that he believes Jasper cofinty will have almost a half crop of corn. This is far ahead of some former estimates and if it turns out as good as Mr. Comer believes it will, old Jasper will fare very well during the coming year. Mr. Comer is perhaps as well qualified to make a close estimate of crops as any farmer in Jasper county. He has lived in the county all of his life and has - assisted for many years in making up the government crop report, from this locality. He says that he was surprised during the past year to find excellent crops of corn. On some farms near Wheatfield the crop is as good or better than normal, he thinks. There, js lots of good corn in Gillam township and over in the Brook neighborhood and the low places, which have frequently drowned out are yielding bumper crops.
