FAIR OAKS.
Beulah Shehen, of Lafayette, is visiting her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Kight. We had quite a storm of wind, rain and hail Monday, but no serious damage was done. Several farmers of this vicinity are threshing oats this week and the crop seems to be generally good. Howard and Olaf Sorenson, of Chicago, are stopping at the Cottingham hotel and visiting here. The senior classes of the M. E. Sunday school were invited to a party at Wm. Gourley’s Saturday evening. Refreshments were served and the time was spent in playing games and singing. Mrs. Postlll accompanied her husband lhere Sunday and after the preaching service took dinner with Mrs. Cottingham. Chas. Barker and family went to Yldo, Ind., to visit relatives and attend the old settlers’ meeting. Roe Yeoman is back on the Lawler ranch, superintending the building of cement silos. Bert Warne was called over to Newland Tuesday to preach a funeral. Mrs. John Zellars and children were in from the mill over Sunday. Mrs. Julius Metzel, daughter of Tom Johnson and wife, came from Canada the first of the week for a visit here.
