The Feds secured their second victory over organized ball Tuesday in the Hal Chase case. The so-called ten-day clause of organized ball was found to be Ipvalid and the courts decided that it was illegal. It now appears that the only players who cannot jump to the Feds and play are those still under contract to a dub. Chase was 1 served with injunction papers on June 25, and has been on the bench ever since.
The Baseball Players’ Fraternity won a victory over the National Commission and the threatened strike, is off. The Newark club has agreed to pay the Nashville club $2,500 and to observe all/the stipulations in Kraft’s contract before he was sent to Nashville. Kraft was also allowed five weeks’ back salary.
