Boarded French Statesmen.
Twenty years ago a clean shaven Frenchman was pretty sure to be set down by his compatriots as either a priest or an actor. Nowadays smooth faces are favored by the younger generation of Frenchmen, partly as a result of the growing cult of athletics. It appears, however, from a portrait published in Le Journal that not a single member of the cabinet is clean shaven, and four out of the twelve wear a full beard and mustache.
