Cole and daughter, Bright, of Lafayette, visited her sister, Mrs. E. L Clark, Sunday. W. O. Banta, of Chicago, came yesterday for a visit of several days with his cousin, Ben Overton. Aloysius Will, of Hammond, came Sunday to spend the summer with his uncle, Joe Truly, on the farm. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Snyder made a visit to tMonon Sunday to place flowers on the graves of relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Robinson, of Battle Ground, spent Saturday and Sunday with relatives here. Mrs. Rice Porter and son returned Saturday from a three weeks’ visit with relatives at Watseka and* Goodland. Alfred Hickman and wife,- of Hammond, spent decoration day and Sunday with his parents and other relatives here. Miss Ruth McKinzie went to Indianapolis Sunday to spend a mo-nth or so with her mother, Mrs. Chas. Harmon.
Miss Anna McMunn and Dr. Ida Ethridge, of Chicago, visited over Decoration day and Sunday with Mt. and Mrs. A. E. Brand. Louis Eisenberg left for her home in New Orleans Sunday after a four weeks’ visit with her mother, Mrs. Nathan Fendig, and family. "Mrs. Mary Jane Hopkins accompanied her son, Homer, to Monticello Sunday. She is past 86 years of age and remarkably well preserved. Mrs. Harry Stokes and baby and her husband’s grandfather, William Fargo, of Chicago, are visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John O'Connor. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. G. Richardson and George Dolson, of Chicago, were the. guests of Mr. and Mrs. A. Halleck Decoration day and over Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Vern Jacks and her mother, Mts. Wolsiffer, of Lafayette, and Mr. and Mrs. Alf Jacks, of Lee, were over Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Thorsten Otterberg. Mrs. R. M. Chissom came from Chicago Saturday and Mr. Chissom joined her here yesterday for a short visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. D. McCarthy.
Dr. A. M. Finch, of Jamestown, will resume his visits to Rensselaer on next Tuesday and Wednesday, June 2nd and 3rd, and will make regular monthly visits thereafter.

Agent Beam returned to his work at the Monon depot today. Stephen Riidlen, who was the acting agent during the almost two months that Mr. Beam was off, has gone to St. John to relieve the agent there. Smith Rainier and daughter, Miss Virginia, and Scott Price and wife, of Brookston, autoed to Rensselaer Sunday morning and spent the day with O. K. Rainier and family. > Mrs. Louis R. Haas returned to Tipton last evening, after having spent several days with her parents; Mr. and Mrs. A. Leopold. Her sister, Miss Gertie Leopold, returned home with her. Miss Rebecca Fendig, who had been a life-long companion for her mother, is temporarily staying with her uncle, A. Leopold, and expects a little later to visit her brother, Simon, at Wheatfield, and Ben, in Chicago.
Mrs. Jessie Huffnagle was operated on for appendicitis at Logansport last week and has been to a very critical condition. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elias Koons, of west of town and her mother has been with her since the operation. A lively ball game occurred near the residence of J. H. Shell, in Walker township, Sunday, the opposing nines being the Messengers and the Pug-Uglies. The latter were successful by the score of 10 to 6. Carl Cleaver' manual training'instructor, expects to spend most of the summer at Chicago University, preparing himself tor hte work. He will return to Rensselaer to resume hie work, which has proven highly satisfactory, in the fall. Try a Republican Classified ad.
