He gets unlimited satisfaction out of the knowledge that his county, his town, churches, schools, roads arejsuch that he can boast of them. He even wants his neighbors to be of that type of citizenship of which he may be proud. - - ■< ■ The Board of Trade, Chamber of Commerce, Business Men’s Association, or whatever its name may be, is" hard at work in practically every community for civic betterment. Every thinking citizen, whether employer or employe, is a conscientious worker for civic righteousnes and advancement, Every time the town takes a step forward, every citizen reaps a profit. It is not fair for any individual to expect others to contribute toward his welfare, by making his commuity a better place in which to live, if that individual fails to do his share for the common good. _____ ______—_____ By no possible stretch of the imagination, can your community be benefitted by any citizen’s contributions to a big city mail order house. That kind of a transaction does not pay your taxes or create a pay roll—it doesn’t build roads or schools houses. It is a destructive force, when you, as a citizen, should exert a creative force. a , The man who sends his money away to a catalog house, does itwith the fancied idea of benefiting himself by getting lower prices.
