The petition shows the value of Mr. Smith's estate to be 35,600,000, of which $3,800,000 Is 1& personal property. The banker gives SIOO,OOO to various long'time officials and employes of the Northern Trust company, of which he was the founder, and the sum of $100,500 was bequeathed for charitable purposes.
