Naps Lost Extra-Inning Game to Francesville Sunday.
The Naps lost a 12-inning ball game to Francesville Sunday, after they had apparently bagged the game in the early frames. The Naps put up a good game on the infield, but several of the players were poor at the bat and a lack of training helped lose them the game. When Francesville went to the bat in the 9th inning the score was 7 to 5 in favor of the Naps. Francesville, however, took kindly to the balls Which Paul Healy was serving and made three scores. The Naps made one run in their half of the ninth and the tenth and eleventh were goose eggs. In the twelv-th the visitors made 5 runs and the Naps made 3 X the final score being, Francesville 13; Naps 11. For the visitors Daseke, the first baseman, played the best game in the field and at bat. The local lads have the making of a good team, being especially strong on the infield. The team Sunday was composed of Harry Moore, catcher; Grant Wynegar and Paul Healy, pitchers; Will Eigelsbaeh, first base; Carl Eiglesbach, second base; Robert Blue, shortstop; Floyd Hemphill, third 'base; Paul Healy alternating with Grant Wynegar, in left field; Charles Rhoades, center field; Paul Beam, right field. Robert Blue led at the bat, with Will Eigelsbaeh a close second. Either Will Eigelsbaeh or Robert Blue would have no trouble making a place for themselves with the Athletics. The receipts at the gate Sunday were S2B, which shows the anxiety of people to attend the ball games.
