First Wounded In War.
Peyton L. Anderson, the first Confederate soldier to be wounded in the Civil war, died recently at his home near GalneiT Cross Roads, Rappahannock county, Va. . He was nearly eighty years old. Anderson was one Of Mosby's raiders. He was wounded near Fairfax Courthouse while on picket duty. He Is said to have sighted the enemy and gone to awaken a comrade before spreading the alarm. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Luemma Anderson; two sons, Aubrejr and Joseph,,and two daughters. Fannie T. and Mary Anderson. He was the uncle of Dr. J. B. Anderson of Lewinsville, Fairfax county, Va.
