Evening Republican, Volume 18, Number 81, Rensselaer, Jasper County, 4 April 1914 — Cocoa Leopard Cake. [ARTICLE]

Cocoa Leopard Cake.

Take two-thirds of a cup of butter, two cups of sugar, four egge, one cup of cold water, three cups of flour, two teaspoons of cream of tartar and one of soda. Take out half of the dough, and add three tablespoons of cocoa and a little vanilla. Flavor the light part to taste and put in the pan in layers, first light, then dark, or dot the dough around in spots. Of course, baking powder can be used if preferred, but there, are some cooks who still chug to the old methods.
