St. Joe Will Probably Rebuild Gymnasium at Once.
While hiembers of the faculty at St. Joseph’s cqllege are unable to speak authoratively, it is the opinion of all that immediate steps will be taken to build a gymnasium to replace the one destroyed by fire. It is more than probable that the new gymnasium wilt be much finer than the remodeled one would have been and a fair estimate of the cost of the building contempalted is SIOO,OOO. It is probable that the auditorium will be separate from the main gymnasium hall, wlfereas in the old building they were the same room. In all probability the science hall will be made a part of the new building. St. Joseph’s college is a part of the Society of the Precious Blood, which has its headquarters at Cartagenia, Ohio, and the rebuilding plans and the appropriation must come with the authority of that society. The walls are still standing, although the west wall is badly cracked and many expected it to fall Thursday. It is probable that the brick can mostly be used in a new structure, while the foundation is said to have suffered practically no damage.
