One cup of butter creamed, two cups of sugar, four eggs beaten light, one cup milk, four cups flour sifted with one-half teaspoon salL one even teaspoon baking soda, two teaspoons of cream of tartar, one cup currants, one cup raisins, one l cup candied orange and lemon peel sliced fine. This makes two loaves. Cook in bread tins two hours In a rather slow oven. This keeps two months or more and should be wrapped in waxed paper and kept in a stone crock. Use any pre. ferred flavoring.
