Railway Dog Dead.

Wimbledon Nell, the retriever which collected money to aid the London & Southwestern Railway Servants’ Orphanage, has died in the Animals’ hospital at Vauxhall. For seven years Wimbledon Nell had walked the platforms of Wimbledon station with a box attached to her back, collecting subscriptions for the orphanage, and during the period mentioned the aggregate amount received was £775. A special steel collar was worn by Nell,-, the gift of the orphanage authorftles, who also presented her with a sliver medal for every £IOO raised. These medals were worn by the dog, attached to her collar. —London MaU.
