J. U. Wildasin unloaded a handsome now five passenger Glide Monday. It is his fifth ear of that make. Mrs. R. R. Cummings, Mrs. Frank M. Ross, Mrs. T. M. Bush and Miss Adah E. Bush were guests at a luncheon given by Mrs. Frank Bishop in Sheldon Tuesday. W, L. Hiil, of Madison, Ind., D. D. Davis, of Oakhill, Ohio, and W. J. Gilbert, of Chicago, were in Brook Monday attending a stockholder’s meeting of the Brook Terra Cotta and Tile Company. Miss Helen Washburn was pleasantly surprised Friday evening. On returning home' from school she found the house in charge of the Camp-Fire Girls who came to help celebrate her birthday. Mrs. Washburn served a four course dinner and all present had a most enjoyable time. West Washington street Avill take the initiative in building operations ths sprng. W. O. -Sehanlaub has purchased one of the Cummngs lots,east of L. B. Osborne’s home, and will build this summer. H. L. Sammons also expects to build on the lot cornering on First and Washington. Both expect to build fine homes. W. O. Shanlaub addressed the civics department of the Woman’s Slub Tuesday afternoon. “Politics” was the subject assigned, and Mr. Shanlaub gave the basic principals of the more important political issues and traced the history of the leading political parties since the formation of our government to the present day. His talk was well received by the “coming A-oters.”
