“Old Trusty” Mail Carrier Again Gets the Contrast.

Charles Fox, known locally as “Comrade” since his experience in the militia some ten years ago, is again back in the mail carrying business, having just been awarded the contract for carrying the m*!! between the depot and the poetoffice. Comrade’s bid was S4O per month, which is lens than hall what the job ought to pay, but Comrade wanted the Job and hia bid had the properties of competition if not of good business judgment. However, we believe if there is any person in Rensselaer who can afford to carry the mail from ! o’clock in the morning until 8 o’clock at night for S4O a month, Comrade is that person, and we expect he will find time between trains to run up a few games of checkers and to contest the “cellar” position in the hot Stove league with any other player on the job. As a mail carrier Comrade won the name "Old Trusty” and he will probably receive recognition as the man who has saved the postofftee department more money than any other man in Indiana. He starts carrying March Ist.
