Simeon McCloud Died After Long Illness From Cancer

Simeon McCloud, who came to this county from Illinois about four years ago, died this Thursday morning at about 7 o’clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Roy Johnson, 10 miles north of Rensselaer. He owned a small farm near the place where he died. Cancer was the cause of death and he had been falling for a long time. The funeral arrangements await the arrival from Chicago of his daughter, Mrs. Johnson, who has been remaining there with her husband, who had one of his legs amputated at the knee about six weeks ago the operation being necessitated by tuberculosis of that limb. Mr. McCloud was about 68 years of age and for about a year kept “batch” on the old Poole farm.
