St Louis, Mo.—When Mary Carr, 200-pound negress, was acquitted of murder, she broke up the court session by smothering Samuel D. Hodgdon, a dignified lawyer, with kisses, and then making a rush for Judge Belding. The judge fled from the bench, shouting that court was adjourned.
