“Mr. and Mrs. O. K. Rainier and daughter, Mrs. Barnes, were in Chalmers Sunday, attending a dinner and reunion at the home of Joseph Taylor and wife, who were celebrating their forty-ninth wedding anniversary.

Charles Foster, of Monticello, one of the publishers of the Monticello Journal and Democrat, was a Rensselaer visitor today. He came on business and his fraternal call at The Republican was altogether too short. Mr. Foster entered the newspaper business by way of the school house, having been a teacher'before being lured By the muses otf the fourth estate.
