Clifford Spate has the mumps. Ed Oliver was out to his farm Tuesday. John Holliday is building a house for T. M. Callahan and has it about completed. Mr. Oliver’s carpenters finished a house him Tuesday and commenced one for Mr. Brown. Mr. and Mrs. Luther Tow called on Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Tow Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Mary Tow spent Thursday with Mrs. Lena Wilson. , John Wilsoh went to Chicago Thursday and returned Saturday; Several from here attended the literary meeting at Gifford Thursday night. There was a large crowd and all enjoyed themselves. There la a meeting there every two weeks and at Independence the weeks between the meetings at Gilford. The -community here is very bitter toward Tom Tanner’s conduct and it would not be safe for him to be at large. Misses Mary and Lulu Anderson spent Saturday night and Sunday with Miss R6V& Rggs Ernest Rees and Soloman Rees spent Sunday with Sam Rbes and family. at Pleasant Grove. Three families have moved Into Gifford and hear there from Dayton, Ohio, 1 Apt week Ed Oliver is loading out two carloads of onions this week. Jim Campbell Is building an addition to his house this week. We are having some bad weather here now. It Isn’t cold but very muddy. S. W. Cooper, who lived near Gifford the last year, moved to Michigan last weqk.
