George W. Tudor Has Bought Miss Mattie Benjamin Home.

George W. Tudor some time ago sold his residence property, including 19 acres, all inside the corporation, to a man named Gosson, of Fairbury, 111., taking in trade a 7-room house in that town. Mr. Tudor put his land in at $7,000, which is a Jlttle more than $350 per acre and we believe is the highest price ever paid tor land in this county. Of there was only 19 acres in the tract and the improvements are quite -good; Mir. Gosson is tfie father-in-law of D. 8. Bare, west of .Rensselaer, and will move here the first of March. Mr. Tudor has purchased the Miss Mattie Benjamin property at the corner of Jackson and Jefferson where Miss Benjamin and her mother now reside. It was formerly the A. W. Cleveland property and consists of tour lots and the residence The price paid was $2,500. Miss Btajamin may build a modern cottage or may decide to occupy the other property which she owns and which is now occupied by G. H. McLain.
