The first number of rthe leotffre course was held at the high school auditorium Wednesday evening and the large audience indicated the success that will attend a union effort in this line. Prof. Laurant, a magician of considerable ability, delighted the audience and made all marvel at his feats of legerdemain. It gave a start to the union course that assures complete success and from the sale of the season tickets and the receipts the first night practically enough has been received to pay the expenses of the entire five numbers.
