Stevens Won First of' Weekly Checker Tournaments. E. M. Thomas, Sam Stevens, J. A. McFarland and Frank Hill have again Inaugurated the winter weekly checker tournaments and Stevens won the first by a big margin. His score was 10, McFarland 5y 2 , Hill 5, and Thomas 3%. Any other who wish to engage in the tournaments can arrange with any of the players mentioned. 1 Eastern Star Election.
