TWO MT. AYR STORES WERE BURGLARIZED
J. D. Ashby Hardware Store Had S9O Stolen and Lyons’ Store Also Lost Heavily. Special to The Republican. 'Mt. Ayr, Ind., Nov. 26.—Burglers visited this village last night and secured rich booty by breaking into the J. D. Ashby hardware store and the William Lyons general store. In both instances the burglars had pried open windows, seached the money drawers, procured other booty and mt by the read doors. The' burglaries were not discovered until'this morning. ’ • Mr. Alhfcy had left S9O in the money drawer and this was stolen. An effort had also been made to pry open the , safe* hut the thieves were not successful. „? ; v The Lyons general store lost considerable money, • but Mn Lyons was livable to estimate the amount. Cigars, tobacco and other 'things were stolen fro mhis stofe. There was no trace of the burglars. •It is thought likely that the same men did this job who tried to rob the Brook postoffice last week,
