Many Useful Articles Were . Given at Church Shower.
The showers from above did not seriously interfere with the shower given at the Christian church Wednesday afternoon, when in response to a public invitation the ladies of the church carried into effect a kitchen and dining room “shower.” The many articles given exhibited a great diversity of present making tact and the gifts were so delightful as to overjoy the ladies of the church. Dishes of a great many kinds, almost enough to supply present needs, and kitchen utensiM of almost every kind, were received, and the large kitchen and extensive dining rooms were in splendid shape to receive and be inspected by the large number of guests. Rugs, sofa pillows and flowers had been brought into use to make the rooms more attractive and the afternoon was very pleasantly spent in conversation and in making plans for the future, in which the visitors from the other churches took almost equal interest with the Christian ladies. The latter feel indeed very grateful to the many friehds who showered them with such splendid articles. Especially do they feel grateful to E. D. Rhoades & &on, who gave ,a large coffee percolator.
