Few but those who have studied musical history know that the name John Bull was borne by one of the most fhmous musicians of the sixteenth century. He was as famous a harpischord player In his day as Lisxt was a pianist, but as a composer he lacked the creative power of Liszt, the result being that Bull is practically unknown to the general public today, even in England.
