Notice is hereby given that the Common Council of the City of Rensselaer, Indiana, will on the 24th day of November, 1913, until 8 o’clock p. m., receive sealed bids for the Improvement of Washington street from the east side of River Bridge east to east side of. Cullen Street with the following kinds of material, to-wit: Brick wearing surface, Dolarway wearing surface. Asphaltic Cement wearing surface and Macadam wearing surface. Each bidder is required to name in his proposal a price for constructing catch basins complete each. Each bidder is required to deposit with his bid, a certified check for an amount not less than two and one-half per cent (2V„.%) of the engineer’s estimate of the Cost of such work bid upon, but ill no case shall any such check be less than SIOO. In case the bid is not accepted this check will be returned to the Tiiddef; but if the bid is accepted, and the bidder shall refuse to enter into a contract with the City of Rensselaer within 10 days from the time he shall have been notified of the acceptan.ce of the same, said check shall be forefeited to the City of Rensselaer. Plans and specifications are on file in the office of the City Clerk and bidders are expected to examine them before filing their bids. Bidders must satisfy themselves by personal examination of the location OF the proposed work, and by such other means as they may choose, as to theaccuracy of the estimates of the work to be done, and shall not at any time after the opening of the bids, dispute or complain of the estimate of the City Civil Engineer. The estimate is believed to be correct, but the City of Rensselaer will not be responsible for any errors in the same, or for any errors in the plans and specifications. The Common Council reserves the right to accept any bid, or to reject any or all such bids. Bids may be filed with the City Clerk on or before said above date. CHAS. MORLAN, City Clerk.
